o:57986 Testing Foundations of Quantum Mechanics at Different Energy Scales. Teil 1B: Ivette Fuentes-Schuller (2) en Workshop in Honour of Reinhold A. Bertlmann Mitschnitt einer Veranstaltung der Fakultät für Physik der Universität Wien am Freitag, dem 25. Juni 2010 im Seminar-Hotel Schneeberghof in Puchberg am Schneeberg Teil 1B: Ivette Fuentes-Schuller: Relativistic Quantum Information Theory (zweiter Teil) Moderation: Beatrix Hiesmayr The insight that the world is fundamentally quantum mechanical inspired the development of quantum information theory. However, the world is not only quantum but also relativistic, and indeed many implementations of quantum information tasks involve truly relativistic systems. In this lecture relativistic effects on entanglement in flat space-times are considered. To this end, the notions of entanglement and the Unruh effect in quantum field theory which causes the degradation of entanglement from the perspective of observers in uniform acceleration are introduced. The relevance of the results derived extends beyond pure quantum information theory, and applications to foundational questions in black hole physics will be briefly discussed.
